Knowing the word of God

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;  When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regem–melech, and their men, to pray before the Lord ,  And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?  Then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me, saying,  Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?  And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?  Should ye not hear the words which the Lord hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?  And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying,  Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:  And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.  But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.  Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts.  Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:  But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.

Walking with Jesus I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour in August 2016. When this journey just began, I was not where I needed to be, I was still doing a lot of things that had me being disobedient to God. I didn’t understood much of the bible, I was in a place where I know I needed help, and I felt that going to church would make everything okay right away, I never knew it would have a been a learning process. I was in and out of jobs, I was lonely, unhappy, bitter, confused, a culprit and basically lawless. I was really broken, I needed a strong foundation, a needed love, I needed peace, and I needed to know who I was. At this point of my life, I really wanted to come home. I had no money saved, was living in a house where a shared utilities and bathroom. My Bill’s where paid by the help of family and whatever assignments I would get to do. I was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the time. God knew my heart, he knew I wanted to go home, because it was a desire of...

Jesus the Lord thy God; where would we be without saving grace? Grace is the reason why we are here, God's unmerited favor of love that has no end. Do you believe that God's promises will come true? Do you believe that he loves you? Do you want to know him as you should? Grace is the reason why we have the opportunity to live in God. Lets' rest in this truth; what Jesus did on the cross made us free from the bondage of the flesh. He was crucified in the flesh to justify the sinner through his spirit. (He died in the flesh and rose in the spirit). "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Peter 3:18). If you would love to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer. Jesus, I thank you for taking my place on the cross. I believe in the finished works of the cross and I accept you in my heart today as my Lord and Savior.

The goodness of God gave us life and hope. Where would we be without the goodness of God? His goodness place us before him; he took no thought for his life when he laid it done to death for us. "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren" (1 John 3:16). The goodness of our God is the only reason we are here on this day; his unmerited favor of love towards us was before we entered this world. "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" (Ephesians 1:4). God's goodness will never run out, it is everlasting as he is. Let's focus on his goodness always and give thanks.
